Hi everyone! This week’s post is all about one of my favorite romance authors, Emily Henry! I have read all four of her books and have unapologetically ranked them all 5 stars, but I will let you know which ones are my favorites. These are all stand alone novels, so there is no particular order that you need to read them, but I’ve listed them in release order, so if you want to start with her first book you can. That is how I ended up reading all her books. Here is my guide to Emily Henry books!
Synopsis: Augustus and January couldn’t be more opposite. Augustus is a literary fiction author. January is a romance author. While Augustus is killing off his characters. January is giving hers a happy ending. The only thing they have in common is that they’re both staying in the same beach town attempting to work on their next books, right next door to each other. While both suffering from writer’s block they decide to strike a deal to get them out of their slumps. Augustus will write a happy book, while January writes a literary masterpiece. They’ll take each other on field trips to inspire their new writing topics. And they’ll both finish their books and no one falls in love. Right?
This is the first book I read by Emily Henry and I instantly became hooked! Fun fact, this was one of the books that got me into spicy books. This one is very tame compared to others I’ve now read! I read this last year while on vacation during the summer and finished it in a matter of hours! To be honest, I was a bit anti-social on that trip, but I was hooked and just could not put it down!! I loved the banter and how Augustus and January’s relationship evolved. I also loved how the ending panned out!
Synopsis: Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common, but somehow they became best friends in college. For 10 years, every summer they took a trip together. No matter where they are they always know that every summer for one week they have a fantastic vacation together. That is until two years ago when everything was ruined and they haven’t spoken since. Now, Poppy looks back and realizes the last time she was truly happy was on that trip with Alex two years ago. She decides to convince him to take a trip together to make everything right and thankfully he agrees. She knows she has only one week to make everything right between them. Except she doesn’t know if she can move past this big truth about their relationship. Can they move past it and make everything right? Or are they destined to only have this last vacation together?
I read this one shortly after Beach Read and enjoyed it just as much! Although, I do think this is my least favorite Emily Henry book if I had to pick one. However, I did enjoy the split time between past and present to tell the story. You get to read about their past trips while the one in the present takes place. It took me a bit longer to read this one, but once I got into it I was hooked!
Synopsis: Nora’s whole life is about books. She is a literary agent in NYC making big deals for her clients. Because she has read almost all the books out there she knows she’s not the typical story heroine. She’s not the sweetheart dream girl that she’s read about. But when, her sister, Libby convinces her to take the ultimate sisters’ trip to small town Sunshine Falls, NC, Nora finds herself wondering how to become the heroine of her own story. Maybe she’ll find a handsome farmer or charming bartender and find a small town love. Instead, she runs into Charlie Lastra, an editor from back in the city. Just as Nora isn’t the typical heroine, Charlie knows he’s not the hero. But as they spend more and more time together they discover that they may belong in each other’s stories.
I read this last October while on my first solo trip, so I’ll always remember that trip when I think about this book. You can check out my post all about that trip here. Anyways, back to Book Lovers! This is my second favorite Emily Henry book because it’s a romance story centered around books. I loved all of the different romance troupes throughout and the will they won’t they plot line! I definitely recommend if you’re a lover of books and love alike.
Synopsis: Harriet and Wyn are the perfect couple! They met in college and have been together ever since! Except six months ago they broke up for reasons they’re not discussing. They haven’t even told their friends yet! Every summer for a yearly relaxing vacation their friend group goes to a Maine cottage, except this year the cottage is being sold. Hoping the people who know them the best won’t notice, they make a plan to fake being in love to not add to the heart break. It’s a great plan, if they didn’t notice how much they still wanted each other. Will unresolved feelings and tension cause their fake love to become real again? Or will they fool their friends for one last great getaway?
This is my favorite Emily Henry book! It out ranked Book Lovers by a tiny bit! I loved the fact that it was centered in Maine! I used to spend part of my summers in Maine at my nana’s small cottage, so it brought back memories of summertime in Maine! The second chance and forced proximity troupes were also *chef’s kiss*. If you are looking to get into Emily Henry’s books I would start with this one!
I hope you enjoyed my guide to Emily Henry books! Have you read any of these before? Are you as big of an Emily Henry fan as me? Let me know in the comments!

Your reading enthusiasm is obvious in your summaries! Nice job!!
Thank you!
I read Book Lovers and also enjoyed the banter they had. Emily Henry is a good middle ground between no spice and too much spice (If that’s a thing)
Yes, I agree!
I love Emily Henry too! I’ve read them all!
Yay! That’s great!
