Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already November! This week’s post is my October Mini Review! I read five books this month and went on a two-week road trip, where I finished two books. Unfortunately, I get car sick, but thankfully I have figured out a medication that works for me, so I can read in the car now, which makes me so happy! I can’t believe it! Anyway, this was a great book month, and I thoroughly enjoyed every book I read! I picked my three favorite books to review!
Synopsis: When Ari and Josh first meet, they instantly hate each other. They have nothing in common, except for the fact that they are sleeping with the same woman. They never expect to see each other again. Ari is a struggling comedian who keeps things casual and never sleeps over after a hookup. Josh is a culinary mastermind who wants to find his person, the one to wake up to every morning. They don’t run in the same circles, except they keep bumping into each other, every time still hating each other. However, one day, both recovering from bad breakups, they find themselves becoming friends. They find comfort in each other until one night their friendship becomes something more. Will they be able to rekindle their friendship or are they doomed to hate each other again?
I loved this book! One of my favorite movies is When Harry Met Sally and when I saw someone mention this book had the feeling of the movie I knew I needed to read it! I really liked the back-and-forth between Ari and Josh, but at times I was like “Please just get it together!!”. Some of their decisions were driving me bonkers, but overall I liked the flow and the spicy scenes were a plus. When I say this has the feeling of When Harry Met Sally, I don’t mean it’s exactly like it. However, the story does take place in NYC over multiple years and chance meetings until they become friends, just like the movie, but it’s very different, I promise. Even though this book is over 400 pages I thought it was a relatively quick read, and I recommend it as a good fall romance read!

Everyone in town agrees. But Pippa Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure. Now a Senior she decides to reexamine the case for her Capstone Project. Her original topic was to present how the print and media played a part in the investigations and implications of guilt. However, she soon discovers secrets and holes that may prove that Sal is innocent. Before long she is in a deep obsession, determined to find the truth. Then someone threatens her to stop looking and Pip finds herself in danger. How far will they go to stop Pip from finding out the truth?
My best friend has been telling me to read this series for a while and I kept putting it off! Sorry! I won’t make that mistake again because this book was phenomenal! It hooked me in right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down! The ENDING, well I wasn’t expecting that! It was shocking! This is a young adult book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a great small-town true crime mystery. Plus the character development was great. I just finished the second book in the series and didn’t enjoy it as much, but I still didn’t guess anything and was hooked. I’m hoping to read the last book in the series this month.

Synopsis: Florence Day is a ghostwriter for a trendy romance author, and she also happens to see ghosts. Florence grew up helping her family at their Funeral Home while helping the ghosts move on. After aiding a ghost in solving a murder, the people of her town don’t understand her, so when she graduates she leaves and never looks back. Now in NYC, after a terrible breakup, her new charmingly handsome editor won’t give her an extension on the book, so she believes her career is over. But then she receives a phone call she never wanted to hear and must return home. Even though she has missed her family she can’t think of staying for long, until she sees a familiar handsome ghost standing at the Funeral Home’s door. She must help him with his unfinished business, but along the way he has her second guess everything she thought she knew about romance stories. But, romance is dead, right?
I really enjoyed this book! When I saw it was a romance and there were ghosts I knew it would be right up my alley! I thought it was a very interesting topic for a romance book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me laugh out loud quite a few times, which is quite rare when I read. There was even a mention of Taylor Swift which is a huge plus! This is a great spooky fall romance!

I know what my next book will be!
Holly Jackson is amazing!!! Even though it’s a YA book it really doesn’t feel like it because the plot/mystery is so complex – but in a good way!
Yes, I completely agree!
You help me compile my book order list each time I read your blog! Well done!
I’m glad! Thank you!
